Project TAFL
Mission The mission of Transitioning America’s Future Leaders (TAFL) is to restore youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system to a higher level of functioning. Project TAFL will build on strengths, expose and prepare youth participants for the countless opportunities awaiting them using the fundamentals of leadership. Programming and services will target male and female youth between the ages of 16-21.
Goals

Curriculum Project TAFL uses a combination of it own materials and other evidenced-based curriculum materials: Wise Guys: Next Level and SMART Girls. The Wise Guys curriculum program acknowledges young males as "whole" individuals with a variety of needs and desires. Participatory lessons and activities focus on assisting them to ask themselves the questions: Who am I; Where am I going; and How do I get there; Weekly topics will highlight the following: Masculinity and Gender, Stress and Anger Management, Values Clarification and Diversity, Effective Communication and Listening Skills, Sexuality, Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships, Relationship Choices, Fatherhood, Sexual Assault, Alcohol and Other Drugs.
